27.6.2025 – what a day! Buckle up as got a few things to say in this post….
First off, massive thanks to all who took part. Legends, one and all! There were 238 pics (taken by the very talented Simon RoeπΈ) so hopefully all who played have at least one memory of the day.
The tournament was made up of 12 teams for the first time and all teams are pictured below. Despite the increase from 10 to 12 teams, none of us anticipated seeing an amazing 126 goals – which included a couple of blinding own goals too (we will protect the indentity of the culprits….). This is great for Wolfram Syndrome UK as we have added a pound for each goal which means the current total raised stands at Β£1,219.20 and there are a couple of amounts left to pay.
We were completely blessed with the weather again and we all agree here that it was the best tournament yet – it seems like lots of our clients agree going on the emails we have received over the weekend and today.
It was a day of a few ‘firsts’ :
– Our first broker winner – congrats to team Howden Insurance Brokers Limited! Big shout out to team Unum too who were narrow runners up after a keenly contested final that Howden won 1-0 π
– Our first female players – absolute legends Dani Moreton and Danielle Smith! Smashed it! π₯
– my son Fin’s first appearance – shame it was for another company and the little blighter scored passed me….. π₯
– annnndddd… Stu’s first tournament goal! π
For team FJN Solutions it was our best performance yet. Unfortunately, we were not good enough to get passed the eventual winners, Howden, in the semi finals. Thanks to Billy Warner, Juan PeΓ±a NΓΊΓ±ez, James Austin, Ciaran Moores, Bruno Coelho and Daniel Woods for being part of our team.
Shout out also for player of the tournament Liam Wilkins
Huge thanks also to Horsham FC for being amazing hosts as always. Thanks also to our sponsors for the tournament of Health & Protection, Lexxika and Bupa Global πππ
Final thanks goes to Amy Bellamy Kai Ellis Stuart Perry and Neve Small for all their efforts on the day and for all of their help leading up to the tournament. These things are hard work to organise and it’s 100% not a one man show. Legends π
Oscar speech, over and out. So, who’s up for next year….
