This is an extremely open, honest and frank post for me, this is me Sarah, the face behind Dollie Graphics…… over the last few days we have all seen the tragic news of Caroline Flack. The act of suicide and the thought of suicide is around us constantly and happens everyday and for some, like myself it is a reminder of what I too have been through. I lost my Mum 2 years ago by suicide, 5 months later my little brother too, did also take his own life………..
I went to a small support group called Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS) it is run by volunteers who have also been affected by Suicide. SoBS helped me massively, to know I wasn’t alone and how I can help myself not only for me but also for my husband and 3 boys.
With all of this said, and now being in a better place mentally, I feel strong enough to help more in a way which I know, and do best….. so I have created some hoodie designs which I would like to sell and 100% of the profits will be donated equally between SoBS and Grassroots. Grassroots helps prevent suicide by educating, connecting and helping those suffering with their mental health.
I would appreciate this is a sensitive subject for some and hope that this can be a positive post and if you do have a negative comment please don’t comment.
If ever you do feel as though you need help, please seek it, speak with someone. You will be surprised how many people have been or are suffering with their mental health.
