Commercial Account Handler – EB Team

Role Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Account Handler to manage a portfolio of existing clients, handling renewals, mid-term adjustments and policy changes while supporting retention and growth. The role also involves identifying new business opportunities and cross-selling additional products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and retain a portfolio of commercial clients, achieving high renewal and retention rates

  • Handle renewals, MTAs, MTCs, claims and additional covers (e.g. Excess Layer, D&O)

  • Assess and underwrite risks before presenting to insurers

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and insurers on technical matters and claims

  • Identify opportunities to develop new business and cross-sell relevant products

  • Maintain accurate client records and activity on internal systems

  • Deliver a high level of customer service and meet agreed SLAs and KPIs

  • Complete ongoing training and CPD in line with regulatory requirements

Knowledge & Experience

  • Commercial insurance broking experience (essential)

  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance and general insurance products

  • Experience managing relationships with clients, insurers and stakeholders

  • Active knowledge of FCA compliance

  • Working towards, or willing to study for, CII qualifications

Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent organisation and ability to manage a busy workload

  • Confident negotiator with strong attention to detail

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and client management systems
