Commercial Account Handler – EB Team
Role Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Account Handler to manage a portfolio of existing clients, handling renewals, mid-term adjustments and policy changes while supporting retention and growth. The role also involves identifying new business opportunities and cross-selling additional products and services.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and retain a portfolio of commercial clients, achieving high renewal and retention rates
Handle renewals, MTAs, MTCs, claims and additional covers (e.g. Excess Layer, D&O)
Assess and underwrite risks before presenting to insurers
Act as the main point of contact for clients and insurers on technical matters and claims
Identify opportunities to develop new business and cross-sell relevant products
Maintain accurate client records and activity on internal systems
Deliver a high level of customer service and meet agreed SLAs and KPIs
Complete ongoing training and CPD in line with regulatory requirements
Knowledge & Experience
Commercial insurance broking experience (essential)
Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance and general insurance products
Experience managing relationships with clients, insurers and stakeholders
Active knowledge of FCA compliance
Working towards, or willing to study for, CII qualifications
Skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organisation and ability to manage a busy workload
Confident negotiator with strong attention to detail
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office and client management systems
