Development Executive

Role Summary:

The Development Executive is responsible for identifying, targeting, and converting new
business opportunities in the SME to mid-corporate market. This role focuses on
building long-term client relationships and delivering tailored insurance solutions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role
in growing the branch’s income and reputation in the local and regional marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively generate new business leads through a mix of networking, cold
outreach, introducers, marketing campaigns, and digital prospecting tools (e.g.,
FullCircl, Apollo).
• Meet or exceed agreed income and growth targets through new client
acquisition.
• Conduct client meetings to assess risks and insurance requirements, presenting
bespoke solutions aligned to client needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, underwriters, and internal
stakeholders.
• Work closely with Account Handlers and Placement teams to ensure timely and
accurate delivery of quotes and documentation.
• Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records via CRM and report on progress
regularly to the Branch Director.
• Represent the business professionally in the local business community, events, and
networking forums.
• Stay informed about market conditions, competitor activity, and underwriting
appetite to capitalise on opportunities.

Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial insurance sales or broking.
• Cert CII or higher (or willingness to work toward qualification).
• A strong network or knowledge of the Sussex, Surrey, or Kent commercial market
is advantageous.
• Understanding of general commercial lines including property, liability, D&O, PI,
cyber, and fleet.
